Emilie Leblanc has been named the new Global Communications Director of Celine, the well-known luxury apparel brand, according to sources. Leblanc will join the executive committee of the company and will answer directly to Celine Séverine Merle, the CEO.
Before joining Celine, Leblanc worked for Saint Laurent as the Associate Chief Marketing Officer. She was also the Head of Global Marketing and International Advertising at YSL for ten years, from 2006 to 2016.
Her impressive career also includes a stint at Repossi as International Marketing Director for a year till 2017 and earlier roles at Editions Jalou. In 2017, Leblanc returned to Saint Laurent as their worldwide marketing and media director
Leblanc’s appointment comes at a pivotal time for Celine as the house prepares for a leadership transition. Michael Rider, formerly of Polo Ralph Lauren, is set to take the reins as Creative Director in early 2025, succeeding Hedi Slimane.
LVMH, the parent company of Celine, aims to capitalise on the brand’s current momentum and maintain the successful formula established by Slimane, which blended French bourgeois aesthetics with alternative cultural influences.
With revenues estimated at around US $ 2.65 billion, Celine is one of LVMH Fashion Group’s fastest-growing brands.
