The next generation of scaling fashion retailers is being ushered in by True Fit, the leading AI-driven platform that decodes size and fit for shoppers and fashion retailers. The platform launched in Shopify at the end of 2023 and is currently driving a 14 per cent average Gross Merchandising Value (GMV) growth for fashion brands on the platform.
Before, True Fit’s Fashion Genome was exclusively available to the biggest clothing designers and merchants worldwide. However, with its democratisation, the complete market may now take use of AI size and fit. Shopify brands are adopting it at a pace of 108 per cent MoM, and by 2024, the solution will be used by more than 2,000 merchants.
True Fit normalised 400,000 size points across brands and 253 localities in order to construct the Fashion Genome, the largest AI fit customisation platform in the world for apparel retailers and brands, connecting over 400 million customers across 21 billion Product Description Page (PDP) views a year with tens of thousands of brands. Size uncertainty risks are limiting the US $ 2.2 trillion garment business, with fit continuing to be the biggest purchasing obstacle when purchasing items online (Bain).
True Fit shoppers are already responsible for over a quarter (27 per cent) of orders placed on Shopify merchants’ websites, with 80 million active users now having access to their True Fit profiles on Shopify sites.
Raj Chandrasekaran, True Fit’s Chief Technology Officer, commented: “In a world where AI is accessible to all, the main differentiator is unique and proprietary data. True Fit’s Fashion Genome is a very special platform cultivated over years. This “unreasonable effectiveness of data” is why True Fit is able to provide trustworthy recommendations at such breadth. And, in retail, trust is everything.”
