According to reports, garment manufacturing industry worldwide amounts to just little less than US $ 1 trillion. The industry, however has still been driven by Industry 3.0, making the role of technology more crucial than ever. It’s just last half a decade since garment manufacturing industry has picked pace to be Industry 4.0 compliant and the manufacturers are also looking at more automation in their processes.
The partnership between leading China-based sewing automation brand IMB and Japan-based leading technology company Brother is a step towards this progression. The alliance is driven by shared interests and a commitment to delivering value to the global apparel industry.
This strategic collaboration will be experienced by global visitors prominently at the upcoming event China International Sewing Equipment Exhibition (CISMA) 2023 which is scheduled to take place from 25th-28th September 2023 in Shanghai, where both IMB and Brother are set to reveal their combined strengths, offering to meet the growing demands of automation.
By joining forces for CISMA 2023, IMB and Brother aim at showcasing visitors the cutting-edge development, technological expertise and proposal capabilities as both companies are better equipped to cater to the garment factories’ requirements, thereby securing great trust from the industry and delivering enhanced services.

Exhibits at CISMA 2023 – Amalgamation of Technology and Sustainability
At the upcoming CISMA event, IMB is set to unveil a diverse range of newly developed automatic units that exemplify the company’s technology prowess. These innovations include New High-Speed Denim Pocket Setter MB1002E and High-Speed Coin Pocket Setter for Denim MB1002J. These units are based on Brother’s S-7300A platform with a substantial capacity rotary hook.

A new series of automation solutions will also be on the exhibit, catering specifically to Chino category. These solutions include Pocket Facing, Darts and Pleats Unit, reflecting IMB and Brother’s efforts in making sewing automats more advanced and effective.

IMB Bangladesh collaborates with China-based Timing to make greater strides in Bangladesh market
Over the last few years, IMB has tapped a substantial share in Bangladesh’ RMG industry in terms of providing sewing automats for products like denim, chinos, shirts etc. – thanks to the country’s inclination towards automation and IMB’s cutting-edge automated solutions that are assisting factories organise production in a more efficient way
Going a step ahead now, IMB Bangladesh, as Johan informed Team Apparel Resources, has partnered with China-based ‘Timing’, a renowned manufacturer of spreaders and cutters. This partnership introduces a new-age cutting software in the Bangladesh RMG market, offering heightened flexibility to meet specialised customer demands.

Timing, a strong reference in the Chinese apparel industry for years now, offers a variety of cutting machines for different fabrics and for all kinds of factories – SMEs, MSMEs and large-scale organisations.
“This cutting department, an extension to IMB Bangladesh, will also be providing a comprehensive hanging system solution to our Bangladesh’s customers. The solution enables seamless data tracking along the track, facilitating the precise alignment of parameters to achieve optimal production line balance,” shares Johan.
Beyond automation, IMB’s endeavours extend to sustainability and waste management with the introduction of new bio-boilers in Bangladesh’s market that signifies IMB’s commitment to a more carbon-neutral approach, providing factories with a sustainable solution for waste disposal.
