India’s top fashion designers, along with representatives from the Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) and Government officials, will take part in the BRICS Fashion Summit in Moscow this month. This event follows last year’s BRICS Summit, where India and Russia signed an agreement to promote designer exchanges between the two nations.
This year’s Summit will feature a large-scale international exhibition titled ‘Heritage,’ showcasing over 150 pieces by more than 40 designers, including those from India. These pieces will highlight traditional crafts from their respective countries.
Sunil Sethi, Chairman of FDCI, emphasised the importance of the BRICS+ Fashion Summit in fostering stronger relations between India and Russia in the fashion industry. He noted that the platform encourages cross-cultural collaborations and has the potential to boost trade and innovation within the fashion sector. The summit’s focus on sustainability and innovation further underscores the long-term impact on global fashion development.
In addition to the BRICS Summit, Indian designers will participate in Moscow Fashion Week from 4th-9th October.
