When attending a fashion show, each visitor tries to dress-to-impress. Mostly so, because everybody is extremely fashion savvy and understands ‘the look’. It is not an unknown territory where people would question one’s dressing sensibilities. This year, we saw that everybody weaved their looks around one common thread- comfort. Of course, keeping things fashion forward was the idea, but nothing came across as un-easy or trying-too-hard in the looks we spotted and papped.
The 18th edition of the event for Winter Festive 2018 spotted a lineup of trends that played with the horizons of opposites- clashing contrast prints, the business casuals, the vintage modernists and chunky accessorized basics.
Prints stole the show, and more than anything, we completely dug the play of linear ideations on striped patterns. Unlike how Mumbai’s weather would demand, people were even spotted wearing denim- in all its glory. Denim jackets got special attention from fashionistas. Flowy, breezy fabrics were also a hot favorite.
More than anything the sartorial picks looked even impressive when the wearers paired them up right to get the look. Matrix glasses, fanny packs, sneakers, floral motif heels… these were some of the things that really made many run-off-the-mill attires also cut through the way.
