Santoni Group, an established name in knitting machine technology around the world has taken a step forward by introducing the first seamless warp knitting machine SDW8.
“So far, all the seamless machines installed all over the world are of weft knitting system. As part of our determination to remain leaders in seamless we have been inevitably drawn into looking at the possibilities of making seamless garments also in the other Warp or Rascel knitting system,” says Henry Alphandery from the Santoni group.
SDW8 is meant for production of underwear and outwear. The machine has double needle bed with maximum working width of 44 inches. There are eight guide bars and has stitch comb sinker bars. It uses Gauge: GG.24 – compound needles and has electronic drive feeding devices for warp yarns along with an electronic take down device.
Capable of doing electronic patterning by means of Piezeo elements, the machine runs at a maximum speed of 600 strokes per minute. The machine is according to CE normatives and UL compatible. The dimensions of the machines are 2.3 m in the front, 3.11 m at the side and a height of 3.2 m. The main brushless motors are 3.9 kW and have a voltage in the range of 380V to 440V. The fully loaded beam jam weighs around 7000 kg.
The machine will be displayed in October 2009 in the ‘Santoni Days’, an annual Santoni event in Brescia, Italy.
