Uniqlo, a multinational clothing company, has declared that four new locations will open in Canada this autumn. Before the year is up, the massive Tokyo-based clothing company aims to build four additional locations in Canada: Toronto, Mississauga, Brampton, and Langley. The brand’s 2022 aim to open 200 stores in North America by 2027 is being built upon by this development. There were 23 Uniqlo stores in Canada and 58 in the United States as of June 2024.
“We have seen incredible momentum throughout Canada, and we couldn’t be more excited to open four new stores,” says Daisuke Tsukagoshi, CEO of Uniqlo North America.
As part of its aggressive growth strategy, Uniqlo is growing its presence in California and breaking into new markets in the United States. In 2024, it plans to open 11 more locations in Texas and California. The company’s initial branches in San Diego and Sacramento, California, as well as its first stores in Texas (in the Houston and Dallas areas) are among the new locations.
In addition, GU, Uniqlo’s less expensive and more fashion-forward sister brand, will debut a 10,225-square-foot flagship in the SoHo district of downtown Manhattan this autumn. It will be the first permanent location for the brand outside of Asia.
