In a notice published in the gazette on 27th October 2024, Dr. Md. Zulhas Uddin was formally named the next Vice-Chancellor of the Bangladesh University of Textiles (BUTEX).
Dr. Zulhas Uddin, a distinguished professor at the Wet Processing Engineering Department, is a renowned scholar and textile engineering specialist. It is expected that he will place a high priority on improving the university’s research, innovation, and educational standards.
On 30th April 2023, Dr. Zulhas Uddin was named as the 4th Vice-Chancellor, succeeding Professor Engr. Shah Alimuzzaman. With this appointment, he becomes the university’s fifth vice-chancellor.
By modernising the College of Textile Technology, the Bangladesh University of Textiles was founded on 22nd December 2010, with the goal of expanding options for postsecondary education, research, and development in the textile industry.
