
Like last year, this year too the Garment Exporters Association of Rajasthan (GEAR) will focus on various activities to increase the garment business in the state.
Some such initiatives that will take place in near future, include buying agent meet, JASSBA Fair 2020, various seminars with prestigious organisations of textile industry like Textiles Committee and others, proposed partnership with Clothing Manufacturers Association of India (CMAI) and many more.
With more than 500 good garment manufacturers (mostly SMEs) and an annual apparel business of approximately Rs. 10,000 crore, Jaipur is one of the garment manufacturing hubs of India, which is growing into export as well as domestic market.
Aseem Singla, General Secretary, GEAR told, “Last year too GEAR initiated lot of activities right from participation in sourcing fairs, knowledge sharing or networking events. All these created good opportunities for various garment manufacturers of Rajasthan.”
He further added that GEAR will also organise health-focused seminars, doctor’s meet, motivational seminars and cricket matches for the benefit of garment factory owners as well as its staff.
The four-decade-old association, which recently held its 42nd Annual General Meeting (AGM), added 28 new members last year and now has a total of 292 members.
GEAR Gen Next Committee was proposed by Rajiv Dewan, President, as such a team is important for allowing the young blood to drive with a future vision. The team consists of 10 members who are less than 40 years of age.
Navin Adwani, Vice President, takes the lead in this team.
