Paramount Products, a leading apparel exporter, is working on multiple fronts as the company is exploring lesser known markets and improving its overall production process.
With about 3,000 machines and a manpower of 5,000, the company’s strong production process, and adoption of digitisation and improvement in a few specific areas have helped it further improve its efficiency.
Dharmendra Singh, VP-Operations of the company told Apparel Resources, “We worked a lot on start-up losses ( which happens during style change) and it proved quite fruitful for us. For this, we focused on external as well as internal activities. Now our pre-production planning is much stronger and is always ready for any task given.”
He further added that in order to ensure the availability of skilled labour at all times and that too specific to its needs, the company has created a group of 80 to 90 tailors who can be used anywhere for any specific operations. It has also invested in nCinga software to have a better control over production.
“We are working towards the Industry 4.0 concept and monitoring closely all the aspects of production. We are also improving on speed so that we can complete the orders within the stipulated time period given by our esteemed buyers. All this has helped us succeed,” he informed.
So far, the company was catering mainly to the European market, but now, it has forayed into the US market as well.
