Emmys are all about awarding the year’s best performances, shows, scripts, actors, and actresses on your television screen. But, what steals the show are the looks that trudge up the red carpet before the ceremonies, as television stars and high fashion couturiers alike take the event as an opportunity to put their best foot forward.
This year, the event steered clear of the minimal corporate wave that has been alive in the recent years, and was all about the volume and bling. Metallics, sequins, bold colours, and silhouettes that sing all that’s grand, were a hit this season. From body-accentuating glitter gowns worn by the influencers like Constance Wu and Chrissy Teigen to grandeur-loving voluminous creations adorned by the likes of Angela Sarafyan and Tracee Ellis Ross, the bling and volume was blatant.
Tulles, feathers, and fringes were not only exclusive to the runway trends as they made a strong statement for the Emmys too. Creations by Zuhair Murad and Christian Siriano were worn the most by the stars while the big fashion houses, like Chanel, were not seen as much as they did previously.
