To meet the increasing local demand for packaging while also increase direct exports, Bangladesh packaging and accessory makers are set to invest around Taka 5,000 crore in the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Shilpa Nagar.
Speaking to the media, President of the Bangladesh Garments Accessories & Packaging Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGAPMEA), Md Moazzem Hossain Moti, reportedly, claimed the Bangladesh Economic Zones Authority (BEZA) has already approved the investment and allotted 25 acres of land even as he added around 1,900 BGAPMEA members need at least 100 acres of land for the investment.
Reports further added the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Shilpa Nagar, which is being constructed on an area of 30,000 acres making it the largest industrial city in Bangladesh, will also have a garment village spanning 500 acres of land.
