Eastman, the name that has revolutionized the apparel industry by manufacturing the first electric cutting machine, always has a strong presence in any technology event and GTE 2008 was no different.
One of the models on display was the End Cutter EC-6, which is a semi-automatic fabric cutter with a motorized cutting head and a maximum pre-set cutting length of 90”. The cutter comes with a 96” track & lifter and a pair of fabric holders and is hand operated. Another model displayed was the new MC-8 Mini Electric Scissors, which is an all-purpose blade capable of cutting through all types of fabric and leather. The machine, being displayed in India for the first time, is portable and lightweight and offers both a rechargeable DC battery and an AC adapter. Besides the regular blade, the machine also offers a second blade specifically for curved cutting. Both machines have received a positive response from the buyers and the company has already booked many orders.
