Today, buyers not only look for quality products but also want durability in the garments they buy. Tensile testing determines the durability of fabric. The fabric is stressed until the reach of its stress state leads to expansion, whereby, the degree or its strength limit is determined. Once the fabric is tested and its strength limit is ascertained, the manufacturers and buyers can guarantee the durability of the garments to their customers according to the fabric’s stress limits.
Presto Stantest Private Limited, the Indian manufacturers of testing and cutting edge solutions have developed the Digital Tensile Strength Tester for the same purpose. It is one of the hot selling products of the company. The Constant Rate of Traverse (CRT) principle has been developed for testing the tensile strength and elongation of fabrics, strength testing of Lea/Hanks and seam slippage testing. With the capacity to test from 0-250 kg, the machine holds the sample between its two jaws having a separation of 25mm; the upper one is a stationary jaw, while the other end is made to move at a speed of 75 mm- 300mm/min with the help of a motor, gearbox and lead screw arrangement.
The load exerted on the stationary jaw is then sensed by a sensor connected with the load cell, which directly indicates the load in digital form in kg. The elongation of the Test Specimen is measured on the three types of tests that can be operated on this unit. Presto’s production facilities are equipped with the latest in-cutting-edge technology. Incorporating up-to-date production methods supported by a professional team, Presto provides calibration and conformance certificates with all the equipment and is supported by a R&D unit to achieve scientifically tangible goals. The equipments developed by the company strictly adhere to AATCC, BS, DIN, M&S, BIS & ISO requirements.
