After capturing the embroidery market with Trilobal and metallic threads made from imported Korean filaments, the Tirupur-based Madhur Threads India Pvt. Ltd. has entered the nylon segment with a formal launch planned for early March. In the first phase, the Mayur nylon brand will be made available at Tirupur, Chennai and Bangalore. In the second phase the product is scheduled for distribution in the Eastern and Western region and finally in the North, in the last phase. “The expansion into the rayon segment is in response to the growing use of rayon threads in embroidery,” says PK Wahal, ED, Madhur Threads. The company, which already claims to hold over 25% of market share in South India, made a foray into the North with a Delhi office last year with the intention of increasing market share in the region. Already nominated by C&A and Migros, Madhur Threads is also popular with Wal-Mart and GAP. The company has recently received export orders for their flagship product Mayur Trilobal from South Africa and Saudi Arabia; earlier, they were exporting to Nepal and Bangladesh. The current product range of the company includes Mayur Trilobal computer embroidery thread and Mayur metallic thread. The aim of the company is to offer quality products, high level of service at competitive prices. “We are always looking at fulfilling the specialised needs of the embroidery industry and in the effort, we regularly add new concepts which will help us keep pace with international trends at global standards,” says Wahal.
