US-based Indian traditional wear brand Lashkaraa has begun retailing in India, the brand announced in a press release.
The brand has launched its most embellished and decorative collection to date to appeal to Indian shoppers, aiming to build a strong customer base across the country as it further expands its product selection.
“After carving a niche for ourselves in the US, we are now introducing our collection in India,” said brand founder Sumeer Kaur in a press release.
“It also marks our foray into heavily embellished outfits, something that’s never-seen-like before. We are also venturing deeper into the jewellery and menswear line. It’s time to turn it up a notch and push ourselves a bit more to design collections that provide our clients with effortlessly stylish combinations with a light touch of history,” adds Kaur.
The brand caters to shoppers looking for anything from occasion wear to casualwear offering a collection of garments including shararas, ghagras, churidar, sarees, kurta and sherwani.
According to the brand, the inspirations include Indian history and heritage craft techniques.
Sumeer Kaur launched Lashkaraa in the US in 2014 and has expanded from womenswear into menswear, childrenswear and jewellery. The brand is designed to offer Indian fashion for the contemporary dresser, according to Kaur.
